The Ground

This practice draws on depth and archetypal psychology, phenomenology, the Imagination and the reality of the Soul. It is informed by astrology, somatics, the creative arts and states of consciousness beyond the ordinary.

The practice draws on all of this. And is none of it exactly.

It does not easily sit within any conventional paradigm, qualification or registration. Whilst I have substantial training in various psychotherapeutic modalities, I am not a qualified or registered psychotherapist — and I am clear about what that means for the kind of work I can and cannot offer. Because I take this work seriously, I work under supervision and hold ethical integrity as non-negotiable.

My own path has included states of consciousness beyond the ordinary — through movement, breathwork, and other practices that loosen the grip of the habitual self. What these gave me was not a practice to offer but a direct knowing — that consensus reality is not the whole picture, that there is a completely different order of knowing at work. They did not simply inform what I do. They shaped who I am.

What has shaped the practice

The body and movement. The image. Symbolic language. Many cultures and languages. Rigorous thinking. All of it teaching me to trust what cannot always be said in words.

Something came out of all of this that I could not have planned.
